for Computer Eyewear

Lens Coatings
- An AR coating will reduce the office environment glare
- AR is always highly recommended for computer eyewear
Tints
- For patients who work in a brightly-lit office with fluorescent lights
- Recommend light tint with 8% absorption
- Verify with lab that tint and AR will work together
- UV: computer screens emit little or no UV light
- UV protection not necessary unless patient requests it
Dispensing computer eyewear
- Advise patient that workplace may have different visual environment
- Those differences may require fine tuning of the office lights or monitor positioning
Computer eyewear in use
- Remind patient to call with specific problems
- Contact patient in 10 days to determine if they are getting expected improvement in comfort and clarity
- Ask for recommendation to their co-workers
