WWW.PRIO.COMFIRST COMPUTER VISION WEBSITE ADDS NEW EDUCATIONAL FEATURES (Beaverton, OREGON) PRIO Corporation, a market leader in the growing specialty of computer vision care, has made major changes and additions to its popular website www.prio.com. PRIO's website went online in 1995, and was the first Internet site devoted to educating consumers and eyecare professionals on vision problems related to computer use. The new and improved website is doctor, consumer and business-friendly with large icons on the side and drop down menus allowing the user to navigate seamlessly around the site. New functions include a "Doctor's Only" section that includes a complete listing of PRIO's products and product descriptions. Eye care professionals can learn how to develop a computer vision care specialty practice, find out about the latest clinical studies involving CVS, and discover the latest products and services offered by PRIO. "As experts in computer vision care, we wanted to satisfy two goals with our new website," said Jon Torrey, president and CEO of PRIO. "First, we wanted to make sure it was easy on the eyes and easy to access. Then, we wanted to make sure that we were providing doctors, consumers and employers with the most extensive information on computer vision care that is available." A key feature of the updated site is a series of online training seminars, including an ABO approved seminar, "Solving Your Patients' Computer Vision Problems" that has just been added. In addition, PRIO's Dispenser Certification Program (DCP) is being offered. While it is not ABO approved, PRIO will provide a certificate to those who pass the DCP documenting that they have passed the PRIO computer vision program. Computer-using consumers can also learn what CVS is and how to treat it. As with business, employers can learn why it is important to provide computer eyewear for their employees and how to increase an employee's productivity through proper computer vision care. Both employers and consumers can have their questions on the subject answered directly by PRIO if desired. The website also includes a nationwide listing of PRIO computer vision specialists who perform the PRIO exam and carry PRIO eyewear. "It is estimated that anywhere from 70-100 million peoplechildren and adultsin America suffer from the sore and fatigued eyes and headaches common to CVS," continued Torrey. "We believe that this new website will be the primary source for doctors, their patients, and employers on the #1 workplace hazard of the 21st centuryCVS." PRIO is working on providing an online ordering system and a bulletin board for doctors to share information and advice. It should be available later this year. In the last two years alone, PRIO has received over 200,000 visitors looking for information on computer-related vision problems and care. For more information on PRIO, call 1- or visit www.prio.com.
