(Beaverton, OREGON) PRIO Corporation, market leader in the fast growing computer vision field, has introduced an affordable designer eyewear collection specifically for computer use as part of its Complete Computer Vision System.

Matthew, an eyewear designer and executive for 15 years, is responsible for such styles as the Andy Warhol and Spiderman/X-man lines for Custom Optical, and Outback, Aussie Kids, and Gridiron lines for Australian Optical.

"The initial response we've received from retailers has been extremely enthusiastic," said Matthew. "Our eyewear collection is a high end look at a very competitive price point."

Available in a range of fashionable styles and high-tech electronic colors, the PRIO Computer Eyewear Collection completes the look with practical spring-hinge design and is available in Monel metal or multi-layer zyl.designs. The Frame Fact Data price for the eyewear, which offers a two-year warranty, is $19.95 - $29.95.

PRIO is also offering two clip options. This will allow consumers to purchase one pair of eyewear for their distance Rx plus a computer clip that includes their PRIO computer Rx, and a sun clip for outdoor activities. PRIO frames are being sold with their own hard case and cleaning cloth.

"PRIO developed the Complete Computer Vision System to support the doctor in the development of a computer vision specialty," said Jon Torrey, President and CEO, PRIO Corporation. "With the industry experiencing tremendous growth in this niche, we saw the availability of high quality, yet reasonably priced designer computer eyewear as a huge market and excellent opportunity for retailers and doctors."

Computer eyeglasses—which contain a different Rx for computer use than for distance—have become a necessity for more and more adults and children who spend hours every day in front of computer screens. The American Optometric Association has reported that 70-75% of the estimated 100 million-plus computer suffer from symptoms for Computer Vision Syndrome—including eyestrain, headaches, irritated and dry eyes, blurred vision, and neck, should and back pain. Surveys, in fact, have shown it to be the number one complaint of office workers.

Headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, PRIO developed the PRIO Vision Tester, the only FDA Class 1 medical device that enables doctors to accurately diagnose and treat Computer Vision Syndrome by simulating a computer screen. The company unveiled the first-ever Complete Computer Vision System at Vision Expo East.
