PRIO Corporation Anounces Advisory Board (Beaverton, OREGON) PRIO Corporation has announced the formation of the PRIO Advisory Board. PRIO manufactures the only computer vision diagnostic instrument designed to accurately determine a patient's prescription for working at the computer. The board consists of 12 independent optometrists from the PRIO Provider Network who will advise the company on clinical issues, new products, activities and services. The Advisory Board members are from all across the country and have more than 100 years combined experience in adult and pediatric vision care. Many of the board members are Fellows in the Academy of Optometry. All are members of the American Optometric Association and influential in their state optometric groups. Most are in private practice. "We are proud to have such a distinguished group of optometrists on our advisory board," said Jon Torrey, President & CEO of PRIO Corporation. "It is important to have this independent board to provide us with advice and leadership that will enable optometry to solve the vision problems that today affect more than 60 million Americans. Their knowledge and expertise is a huge asset to PRIO." The PRIO Vision Tester enables an eye doctor to prescribe eyeglasses that eliminate the focusing stresses causing computer eyestrain. It is now being used by more than 1,200 optometrists and ophthalmologists across the country. "I have been working with PRIO and using the PRIO tester for years and I can tell you that it has been a tremendous benefit to both my practice and patients," said Brian Tracy, OD, Sacramento, CA. "By using the PRIO tester, I believe that I can get the most accurate prescription much more quickly, thereby saving time and allowing more time to see patients." As a result of their knowledge and familiarity with the problem of CVS and the PRIO tester, PRIO's Advisory Board will be available to answer clinical questions from doctors who are interested in learning how to use the PRIO Vision Tester to improve patient care. "By focusing patients on CVS and helping them manage the problem, optometrists can open an exciting new facet to their practice," said David Kolker, OD, Tulsa, OK. "The PRIO tester allows doctors to demonstrate a high-tech solution to a high-tech problem." The members of the PRIO Advisory Board are:
